The Armored Saurus only needs Barrier and Bond in Hard Mode, the rest seems like overkill. He gets the door down with plenty of time before the rangers kill him. In normal mode I found a paragon with Angelic Bond is usually enough.

As I already said, doing 6 or so quests in Hard Mode can be done really quickly. Some, such as Destruction's Depths or Warband of Brothers take a fair while sometimes (not to mention there are 2 distinct points in Destruction's Depths where GW crashes for me)... Filling in part of the handbook and handing it in is pretty quick and nets a reasonable amount of reputation for the time invested.

Well a big energy pool (50-60) is often enough, especially if you have a Zealous weapon too.

Ive just scrapped a min or 2 from the Nornbear quest, apparently you do not need to visit the Volfen Shrine to make him spawn. Ive run to all 3 spawn spots without going to the Shrine first and he appeared. You just need to remember where he is. Maybe you can even rush to the last spawn alone and kill him there, im dont know yet.

No you cannot, have to do them in order (unless this has been changed from a few weeks ago or so).

Also to those people who are saying it is more worthwhile to do the whole book, it is possible to do 5-6 or so of the missions in HM in an hour, which maybe all the time that you have or don't want to put in the extra effort of doing ones such as DD, etc., though if you have Vanquished all areas + all dungeons in HM you should be near max titles on all 4 anyways.

Book question : If you are just below level 8 when you turn in your NM books does it cap your points at level 8 or does it still give you the full reward and thus put you on your way to level 9.

Thanks for that confirmation Guildmaster Cain! Thats going to be so nice - have one of each book ready for when I try to max the other 3 GWEN titles (almost have the Dwarf - snowmen ftw )

So only DD cant be done in less then 20 mins...
hmm , you still need to cap the altar doing so , needs long and careful pulling of the vaettirs ...

Hmm maybe it is because I did it in NM, but I do not have any problems with the Vaettirs. For capping the alter, you only need to be close to the altar and ignore the Vaettirs that are out of you aggro bubble. You can hug the Left side when you enter the Vaettir area and you prob have to fight 1 or 2 Vaettirs and that is all. Continue to the Res shrine near the exit and then towards the Altar. If any Vaettirs come into your bubble, smite them with ranged attacks.
After you have summoned the bear spirit, you can continue into the next area. Take the Southern most gate (you can skip the part of getting Ursan Blessing if you already have it) and rampage your way into the camp. Make sure you kill of ALL groups in the inner part of the camp (with the monk boss). In NM I can do this in 4 mins time, have a screenshot of it.

In NM that area is a breeze indeed, but in HM the amount of Vaettirs is massive and they're not a piece of cake.

How exactly do you enter quests from the HoM? I can collect them if that's what you mean but I can't figure out how to enter the instance and that's how I interpreted your post. If you can enter the instance from HoM can you explain how please?

I don't think you can enter from HoM, thats what I thought when I read his post but I tried every possible option from that menu at the pool and there is no option that takes you to the mission directly. If there is a way then please enlighten me Guildmaster.

As for Blood Washes blood, in my experience its a waste of time and way too hard in HM for h/h, doable but just a waste of time. Destruction's Depth is even easier and faster than Blood Washes Blood.

I do all missions except BwB and DD and get 18k in about 2 hours. The more you do it the faster it gets. 3 more books for me and I'm done and there is no way I'm doing this for my other characters, one is enough lol.

Blood washes blood is very easy to H/H in HM when you know how to do it. Skip all the massive charr-killing by taking UB in your skillbar, then avoid fighting by entering boss area by the southern doors... Pull groups one by one, no hurry, and well... that's done, and that's fast.

I did it as UB warrior, along with heroes from Sab's build, plus Mhenlo, Lina, Zho and Cynn.

Where I encountered some trouble last times I tried this is at vaettirs before entering mission... but if you pull carefully, with heroes flagged at the limit of your aggro circle, it's pretty easy to clear the area .

It's good to change the repeated quests sometimes... I'm getting bored at 120.000+ norn points aawwwww...!

You can run through Bjora Marches from Longeye Ledge without fighting a thing. Agree though that the Vaettirs are annoying (you probably have to fight one group of 4), and the rest of the mission is a stone cold drag. Pro-kiting hard ressers, uberhealing monk boss and 5 groups in a very small fortress... ugh. Do-able with hench in HM for sure, but what a pain. Hadn't thought of trying with Ursan already on the bar though - might make it a bit more palatable.

I didn't bond it at all. O_o Just set both destroyers to bomb the inner gates, camped on the left side charr axe teleporter with my whole team, and b-surge / epidemic'd the left hand rangers closest to me, while the rest of my henchies spawn-camped the melee to death repeatedly. Charr allies took care of melee spawns on the other side just fine. Saurus got through first time with no fuss and most of its health intact.

I might fill another book again so, out of curiosity, what does everyone believe to be the best mix to kill balanced Charr parties in HM?

I hated Warband of Brothers HM due to a couple of groups on lvl 2 composed of a rezbot (Dominator), 2 healers (Prophets) and a few damage dealers (Flameshielders & Seekers). I am thinking Winter probably won't be enough here.

The party I'm using for every HM mission consists of the three Necro's from Sab's (thanks again mate) Hero Build, me as a BHA Ranger with Throw Dirt, Epidemic, Pain Inverter and Ebon Battle Standard of Courage, and the Henchies Herta, Eve, Cynn and Lina. No need to bring Frozen Soil (I guess you meant this skill instead of Winter, to prevent rezzing).

Once the Minion Master has collected some corpses it'll be easy enough. Pain Inverter on the Flameshielders and living through their Firestorm will instakill them. Shutting down their monks with BHA and blinding their Warriors, spreading it with Epidemic makes it doable. Just be sure never to engage two mobs at the same time, and never fight when there is another patrol nearby, otherwise their monks will just join the fight...

I've never used any melee fighters in my party, the minions make excellent cannon fodder anyways, so I can focus on dealing damage from afar. And for some reason the Dominators didn't use their rezz skill that often, but maybe I'm lucky

Yes I did mean Frozen Soil Sorry

I wanted to do this with a W, so maybe I'll go Cripslash/Epidemic myself and bring Zho as the BHA interrupter

Sab's hero builds would be a standard of course Wouldn't leave home without them Although I am thinking in this zone an A/P Helmos spear spiker would probably be more useful than the SS hero.

Damn hard, the Warband of Brothers in HM. And long.

But the solution is a SS Necro. SS+Enfeebling Blood + Mark of Pain. They do not have hex removal!

So park your party behind the pillars and walls, tank them at a choke point and let SS+maybe MoP make short work of them, blind and enfeeble the targets.

Key is shutting down the Warriors and eliminating the Rezzmer Dominators quickly. The Fire elementalists are dangerous, but use the WARD VS CHARR (aka Vanguard Ward of Courage) or have a SY spammer and they are not that dangerous to have target priority.

Basically, have a Curse Necro, a MM Necro, ideally a Paragon and...

1.) Shutdown the Warriors
2.) Kill the Rezzmers
3.) Exploit Terrain for SS orgies on Charr Hunters e.g..

Is there another thread on this?
Maybe a more concise one.

LMK and THX

I suppose you can go both ways with the "Farming", books or hunting, it breaks it up so it does not get tedious. Not to mention you'll get more drops hunting than if you do the book-way.

=)

I've gotten 1000 a couple times, so you might want to lower your numbers.

I've had Frostie's death not count, robbing me of the points. Plus, it is all dependant on random bonuses.
